HELD SEMINAR ON TOPIC “THE RULE OF LAW AND CONFRONTATION WITH THE PAST”

Civic Library Pirgos in cooperation with Organization for European Safety and Cooperation - (OEBS/OSCE) – Mission in Serbia, has held a seminar on the topic “THE RULE OF LAW AND CONFRONTATION WITH THE PAST”. The seminar was attended by 30 participants, representatives of various organizations, institutions and political parties from all 4 municipalities of Pirot District. According to all criteria the seminar was successfully realized and has thus achieved its goal.

 The lecturers on the seminar were as follows:

• Marko Karadžić – State Secretary from the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights;
• Dušan Ignjatović – Manager of the Office of the National Council for cooperation with Hag Tribunal;
• Mirjana Vojvodić -  Board for Civic Initiative Niš;
• Vladica Tošić – professor of history - Pirot
• Jovan Nicić – legal advisor of the Office for cooperation with the Hag Tribunal;
• Jelena Stevančević - legal advisor for issues of war crimes, OEBS Mission in Serbia.

The seminar was interactive so that active participation of political youth activists was expected, alongside with participation of representatives of NGO sector, young people and local media which has in general contributed to a successful realization of the event.
